Sagewerk Farms is home to four of the finest European rottweilers. Each hail from a variety of Champion bloodlines, which are rooted in the eastern European countries including Germany and Russia, as well as some of the Slavic states, including Serbia and the former Yugoslavia. In terms of pedigree, our dogs are certainly among the highest caliber.

The farm provides a clean, open, and highly social living environment where our dogs learn how to properly interact with human caregivers, as well as other animals on the farm. Our dogs have also been given a clean bill of health and are fully vaccinated. Well socialized and well cared-for, our champion rotties certainly make for the ideal pet for most families.

Belted Galloway beef cattle is a breed of beef cow native to Scotland. Aside from their striking appearance, belties are known for their meat, as their relatively slow growth rate and smaller size when compared to the Black Angus beef cow results in a much more tender and marbled steak. Although they are slower growing than many other comparable beef cows, they are very feed efficient, partly as a result of their thick fur coats, which results in less energy being used for maintaining internal body heat, particularly in the winter months. The breed is quite hardy in other ways as well; they are not prone to disease in nearly the same magnitude as other beef cattle breeds.

If you’re looking at getting into raising beef cattle, our Belted Galloways are a good way to add to your existing cattle operations, as well as a great place to start.

Belted Galloway cows grow at a much slower rate than the typical Black Angus beef sold in many grocery stores. However, this slower growth results in a much more tender and marbled finished product. In accordance with USDA regulations, we coordinate with an experienced butcher to provide beef on a whole or half carcass basis, however individual cuts can also be purchased when available. On a per pound basis, much more of the animal’s weight contributes to muscle mass, as more of the fat is marbled into the muscles, rather than remaining separated or distributed around the musculature.

Sagewerk Farms was created to satisfy a desire to improve the quality of AKC, registered European Rottweilers and registered Belted Galloway cattle all with certified and documented lineage.

Our infrastructure includes a heated and cooled facility known as “The Dawg House” which provides a clean and safe environment for our dogs. For our belties, we have (4) 25acre pastures for rotational grazing which includes a centralized well which supplies water troughs for each pasture, (4) Safety areas, (2) hay barns, 2 ponds, and of course plenty of Max Q fescue grass. We also have 3 Jenny’s and 1 Johnny which provide protection for all of our Belted Galloways.

The farm staff is an effective and hardworking unit, and the efforts of our farm hands gives our animals a clean and easy life worthy of the Sagewerk name.
